Course Overview
Some young people find it difficult to stay healthy when routines change, stress builds up, or there’s limited access to good food and exercise. The Fitness and Nutrition Course & Assessment helps young people show themselves, professionals and carers that they understand how to look after their physical wellbeing and can make informed choices that support long-term health and stability.
Who is this course aimed at?
Young people who:

Want to learn how their body works and how to fuel it properly

Are trying to build healthier habits but don’t know where to start

Need support maintaining energy, focus, or mood through food and exercise

Are preparing for independent living and want to stay well physically and mentally
Course Content
This course builds on their ability to demonstrate healthier lifestyle choices. These are not lessons normally taught in schools and can be seen as a necessary part of life skills towards adulthood. Young people and their carers can be assured that the skills learned on the course, will increase their likelihood of sustaining good health and beyond.

- How the body works
- Food to energy
- Types of fitness
- Fitness and age
- Which protein?
- Sugar and processed foods
- Rest and recovery
- Motivation
Training Breakdown
The course covers 8 sections (up to 45min each with a facilitator). There are also short multiple-choice quizzes after each completed section to strengthen learning. The interventions encourage discussion and thought provoking choice options with case study scenarios that are designed to be relative and engaging.
