Course Overview
Preparing Young People for the Reality of Work
Many young people may struggle to demonstrate that they are truly ready when career opportunities present themselves.
Employers are not only looking for qualifications. They are looking for behaviours, mindset and consistency. These things are rarely taught but quickly noticed.
The iCompassUK Employability Programme is designed to bridge that gap.
Through structured, conversation-led sessions, young people are guided to explore what is really expected of them in the workplace. Rather than being told what to do, they are supported to think, reflect and understand how their choices, behaviours and attitudes shape their success at work.
This approach helps young people move beyond theory and begin to see themselves as part of a working environment; building confidence, awareness and readiness before they arrive.
Who is it aimed at?
Young people who are:
- Looking for employment or apprenticeships
- New employees or trainees
- Trying to improve their skills and confidence in preparing for work
- Finding it difficult to uphold or keep employment
Training Breakdown
The course covers 8 sections, with multiple-choice questions throughout and a final assessment at the end. It can be completed within one sitting or paced over a number of hours/days as part of a broader learning experience. The training entails discussion, thought provoking choice options and specially designed scenarios. As with all iCompassUK courses, it is web based, engaging and can be tutor lead. All assessments should be done individually.
